RefurbishmentsA typical refurbishment project we have undertaken is the modification of an aircarft hanger built during the war. The hanger was converted into laboratories in the 60's.
The project comprised the survey of the building, and to check that the existing structure was able to sustain the additional refurbishment loads, and to reinforce the existing structure where necessary.
The reports contain notification of defects and propose possible remedial works for the client's consideration.
The sites are visited on a regular basis to monitor the construction of the project. Good working relationships are developed with the design and construction teams to ensure that there are no delays to the programmes. Technical audits have been undertaken on numerous projects comprising multi-plex cinemas, offices and warehouses, having a value of £0.5m to £10.0m.
Reports are prepared with regard to the design and construction audits for insurance purposes.
